What is a downlight?
Downlights
or ceiling spotlights are recessed luminaires that are placed in the ceiling.
They have a standard size and are suitable as a replacement for your
traditional fluorescent and PL-C lamps. Downlights can also be dimmed. For
ceilings where installation of recessed luminaires is not possible, we also
offer surface-mounted luminaires for mounting as an alternative. Downlights can
be used in schools, offices, corridors, and stairwells and are thus
multifunctional! Thanks to modern LED technology, you can even save money and
electricity when using LED downlights.
Install LED downlight
Here are the
steps explained again:
1. Before replacing: Switch off the
power! For added security, you can unscrew the fuse.
2. Disconnect the power cord and remove
your previous light.
3. Remove the cover and connect the EU
power cord: the brown wire is L, the blue wire is N. Then screw the cover back
on.
4. Connect the power cord to the mains.
5. Slide the lamp holder completely in
and place the downlight on the ceiling.
6. Turn on the power and save energy and
money immediately.
Advantages of downlights
Downlights
can either be installed or installed - this is due to the nature of the
ceiling. In conventional compact fluorescent lamps, the light is scattered,
which can lead to glare and is therefore unpleasant for the eyes. This does not
happen with ceiling spotlights, as the dimming angle reduces glare. If this is
to be further attenuated, you can opt for a model in which the light bulb is
drawn into the lamp. The continued reduced glare effect protects the eyes.
Shapes and color temperatures
Those who
have the choice are spoiled for choice: Ceiling spotlights are round and
square, as recessed or surface-mounted luminaires and in different color
temperatures. The light color should begin with an 8 - the first digit of the
light color indicates the color rendering in R a. The higher the number, the
more natural the color rendering. The following two numbers indicate the color
temperature. The decision is yours! With us, you can filter on the category
pages by color code and thus display the appropriate bulbs for you.
